Get around punk-rockers Born Lion and their new album, Celebrate The Lie

One they're celebrating with an east coast tour.

Afetr releasing their much-loved debut album Final Words in 2015, Sydney/Wollongong punkers Born Lion are back with album #2 - Celebrate The Lie - another in-your-face collection of punk-rock anthems delivered with zero bullshit. As you'll read below, it's taken a little while to come to fruition, with work on it first beginning on it in 2016, but over the time they've released some ripper singles, and played plenty of ball-busting live shows to keep 'em busy. They're hitting the road late Feb with Captives to celebrate Celebrate The Lie's release, find those dates, along with a little more about the band, below:

Tell us about about yourselves?

We are a fairly reasonable punk rock’n’roll band from Sydney/Wollongong. We like playing weird chords and yelling a lot.

What kinda tunes we talkin’?

Rock vibes, punk vibes.

Production/writing process:

I (John) generally come up with a starting point. We then play it over and over until we hate it. Everyone has input and we generally try out everyone’s ideas. The end result can be very different to where it originated.

Can you tell us about your new album, Celebrate The Lie?

We spent a lot of time writing. We rented a room just outside of Sydney and spent a massive chunk of 2016 hauled up there. We tracked the album with Jimmy Balderston at Ghost Note Studio in Adelaide. We lived at the studio for two weeks doing 12 hour days. Our manager Ryan Hazell mixed it.

Any shows coming up?

Yes! On tour with our best buds Captives through Feb/March. We’ll be stopping by Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

We have a lot more shows planned through May and June that are yet to be announced.

Where can we hear more of your music?

Spotify.

UPCOMING SHOWS:

Fri 23 Feb - Bendigo Hotel, Melbourne

Sat 24 Feb - Ed's Castle, Adelaide

Fri 2 Mar - The Flaming Galah, Brisbane

Sat 3 Mar - The Chippo, Sydney
