With so much new music coming out each and every day, it can be hard to listen to everything, but we'll be damned if we don't try. Here are our favourite tunes from the week that was from the likes of Adrianne Lenker; Ahadadream, Priya Ragu and Skrillex; Boox Kid, Dolce Blue, Logic1000, Luude, RONA., Rosie Tucker, Shabaka and Two Shell & FKA twigs!

Adrianne Lenker - Free Treasure

The final glorious single from Lenker’s new album sees her teaming up with Mat Davidson (Twain, The Low Anthem) for a touching and tender duet. Adrianne Lenker’s new album Bright Future is out now via 4AD / Remote Control.

Ahadadream, Priya Ragu, Skrillex Feat. Contra - TAKA

It’s finally out! Following the likes of Chris Lake and Four Tet dropping it in club sets, when Ahadadream’s Boiler Room set dropped in late 2023 featuring a surprise visit from Skrillex to drop TAKA, the tune became a viral hit. Now it’s released to the world for every DJ and their dog to jam on to their USBs and spin to their heart's content. Out now via Major Recordings/Warner Records.

Boox Kid - Talking To Myself feat. Cloe Terare

Ahead of his eagerly awaited debut EP next month, Walyalaup/Fremantle singer songwriter and proud Noongar man Boox Kid is back with an emotional and atmospheric slice of indie pop, teaming up with Meanjin-based First Nation artist Cloe Terare as the pair’s soothing voices trade verses, leading to an epic, beat driven conclusion. Book Kid’s new EP Reflections is out April 5.

Dolce Blue - Sugar Free

After releasing their sophomore album Sweet Melancholy last year, Boorloo/Perth indie rocker’s Dolce Blue have readied a deluxe edition of the LP, packing four fresh tracks including new single Sugar Free. A bluesy, cut of vibrant pop-rock, Sugar Free sees frontwoman Veronica Zurzolo reflect on the trials and tribulations of trying to “make it” in music, while not being dissuaded. Sweet Melancholy Deluxe is out late June 2024 via Blue Grey Pink.

Logic1000 - Can't Let Go

After a string of awesome singles, Logic1000 has one more to drop from her amazing new album, Mother. A loving ode to the history and diverse sounds of house music, Mother takes the listener through a range of styles, including the driving, groove-laden vocal sampling sounds of Can’t Let Go. Logic1000’s new album Mother is out now via Because Music / Virgin Music Australia.

Luude - Pachamama (feat. Elliphant)

As he gears up for a massive co-headline Australian tour with D&B dons Chase & Status, local bass lord Luude teams up with Swedish artist Elliphant for a new cut of tropical drum and bass goodness. Out now via Sweat It Out.

RONA. - Be My Medicine

Mparntwe and Naarm-based producer, Kaytetye artist and DJ, RONA. delivers a trancey cut of driving house sounds, pairing arpeggiated synths and four to the floor drums with RONA.’s hypnotic, ethereal vocal samples. Out now via Rose Avenue Records.

Rosie Tucker - Big Fish/No Fun

Covering some similar themes to Dolce Blue’s Sugar Free, Rosie Tucker’s final single from her new album also explores the perils of pursuing a music career to the sounds of some emotional and spirited punk influenced alt-rock. Rosie Tucker’s new album UTOPIA NOW! is out now via Sentimental Records.

Shabaka - I’ll Do Whatever You Want feat. Floating Points, Laraaji & Andre3000

English contemporary Jazz lord and wind instrument wizard Shabaka teams up with some extremely heavy hitters (yes, Andre is playing Teotihuacan flute) for his latest single of beautiful ambient spaced out jazz sounds that take you on a meditative journey across its eight minute run time. Shabaka’s new album Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace is out April 12 via Impulse.

Two Shell & FKA twigs - Talk To Me

London’s mysterious merry pranksters of dance music Two Shell team up with the one and only FKA twigs for a fun new cut of 2000s big beat influenced sounds that would absolutely pop OFF in the rollerdrome. Out now via Young / Remote Control Records.
