New Music: Shabazz Palaces #CAKE (Animal Collective Premature Deflirt Mix)

Animal Collective have hopped on board to remix Shabazz Palaces' #CAKE or as they've phrased it a 'premature deflirt mix' and for once that terminology actually fits the restructuring of the song. Animal Collective's touches have unravelled the density and instead of 'flirting' with the track like artists may Animal Collective have added their own ambient, almost hallucogenic twist. At first we're presented with this highly electronic landscape, full of distortions and beeps before the vocals of Animal Collective form into a call and recieve. Then some clever editing of the original sampling provides a sonic springboard into a sprawling bass-driven merging of Animal Collective with Shabazz Palaces.
