Introducing: Leisure Suite

Introducing: Leisure Suite

Get to know the exciting Melbourne trio ahead of their EP launch this weekend.

Currently riding a wave of hype since the release of their debut self-titled EP, Melbourne trio Leisure Suite are gearing up for the launch of said four-tracker this weekend at Melbourne's Boney, with a few friends in tow. Click on the tour poster below our chat with Bridgette Le from the group to head to the Facebook event.

Tell us about about yourselves:

We’re Leisure Suite, a three-piece electronic act from Melbourne.

What kinda tunes we talkin’?

Down-tempo electronic with a wee bit of soul.

Production/writing process:

We usually start with the sounds first; so a specific synth, guitar tone or drum beat, which will immediately trigger the mood of the song for me. From there onwards, it’s a process of improvisation where the first words and melodies that come to mind are then written down and recorded.

What do you guys do outside of Leisure Suite?

We’re usually scoping out good burger joints and generally just feeding our mutual obsession for junk food. It’s an integral part of the writing process, so we need to keep it alive somehow.

You have an EP out now, can you tell us a bit about the launch show?

We have the pleasure of playing with a bunch of super talented Melbourne musicians who are all just the most lovely and genuine people. Habits and Lanks will be bringing the boogie and the boys from Rat & Co are DJing which we are super excited about!

What’s the rest of the year have in store?

Plenty of jamming and writing (and inevitably more junk food). We’re hoping to buckle down next year and have some new music for you ear-holes.

Where can we hear more of your music?

Only on our Soundcloud at the moment but we’ll have our Bandcamp launching reaaal soon for physical orders and bonus material, oh and there's Facebook of course.

LAUNCH: Saturday 15 November @ Boney

w/ Lanks, Habits, Rat & Co DJs
