Meet the DJs of Red Bull Curates' free Welcome to Summer Sunday Sesh this week
The ultimate silly season Sunday session goes down at Fremantle's Coast Port Beach this Sunday, December 12th.
A couple of weeks ago, we introduced Red Bull Curates' Welcome To Summer party series into the world - an entirely free set of shows across Australia aimed to get the end-of-year celebrations happening, especially in areas that have suffered through lockdowns and restrictions for much of the last 12 months.
Across a couple of days in December, the shows will touch down in Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and Fremantle, with co-presenters and full line-ups individualised for each show. In Sydney, for example, Nina Las Vegas and Motez will be taking over the infamous Coogee Rooftop on December 9th; Melbourne's literally floating Arbory Float will welcome Benson and Alice Ivy, and the Gold Coast's scenic Island Rooftop will host Last Dinosaurs in DJ mode, alongside indie breakthrough Hope D. There's also guests including Ebony Boadu, Ayebatonye, Mild Life and more sprinkled across the line-ups, depending on where you are.
Now, we're stoked to welcome the line-up for the Fremantle show, which happens at the beachside Coast Port Beach on December 12th (aka this Sunday), for those seeking a bit of an end-of-week silly season Sunday sesh for the ages. In Fremantle, the show is dominated by some of the best on the decks, featuring selectors across the depths of Perth's indie and electronic world; selectors guaranteed to bring sweltering tunes amongst this hot weather.
Leading the charge is Crooked Colours in DJ mode, finishing off their victory lap of a year with a final mix in their home city, before a big 2022 ahead undoubtedly filled with catching up on international touring. Then, there's Beryl Streep - better known as San Cisco's Scarlett Stevens in her DJ set-up - joining the mix, alongside local selectors VK, Wheresholly and Soulsby; local heavyweights which aren't strangers to Perth's late-night club dens and pool-side soirees alike, and people that are always guaranteed to bring the vibes.
Best of all, however, the Welcome To Summer shows are completely free - meaning this isn't going to be some summer soiree that breaks the bank. You can RSVP your ticket and find a bit more information about the Fremantle show here, but saddle up, because this summer is going to be a big one, and Red Bull Curates is kicking it off in the best possible way.
