PSA: Perth's Pop-up Globe Theatre are flinging $10 tickets to its opening shows

A selected handful of seats for the theatre's opening week are on sale for super cheap, so don't miss out.

October is a notoriously difficult time to find stuff to do. The weather isn't quite perfect yet, meaning that those endless summer days on the beach aren't quite a reality just yet, and while there's a couple of drinking opportunities here and there - Halloween obviously being the big one - it isn't exactly the 'every night there's something on' business that usually starts to pick up in late-November into December. You'd often find that even the months before a busier, with a handful of winter bashes and festivals (g'day Splendour) keeping you busy until the warmer months come around.

Launching October 5th at Crown Perth, the Pop-up Globe Theatre may be the answer to your third-quarter crisis. If you're yet to be acquainted, it's a full-scale temporary replica of the Shakespeare-associated theatre in London - one of culture's most important venues in history, spanning all the way back to the 1600s - that after debuting in Auckland a while back, has since grown to become a must-see across Australia, debuting in Perth this Spring after seasons in Sydney and Melbourne have sold thousands on thousands of tickets.

While the hyper-realistic, full-sized replica is a strong drawcard, the real headliners are what happens inside. Across the season, the Pop-up Globe Theatre will host four of Shakespeare's most-notable plays and performances - Hamlet, A Midsummer Nights’ Dream, Measure for Measure and Twelfth Night - brought forward to the future; the witty one-liners wittier and more common, the action and fights more brutal and extra, and the blood... more bloodier (fun fact: the theatre is the biggest importer of stage blood in the southern hemisphere, so you know things are going to get messy).

Ticket prices for the season vary, but for a limited time only, the Globe Theatre are flinging off $10 tickets - excluding handling/delivery fees - to the theatre's opening week, which means if you're interested in catching one of the four plays before anyone else for cheaper than anyone else, this is your chance. It's valid for all preview shows for performances and plays between October 5th to October 13th, for the lower gallery seats and groundlings (front-and-centre a.k.a. where all the action goes down) until tickets are all gone, meaning that they probably won't hang around for long.

The Pop-up Globe Theatre and the shows inside are one-of-a-kind. The modern reimagining of the Shakespearean classics - some of art's most incredible and infamous pieces - are something you can't find anywhere else, and if there's one way to drag anyone to an old Shakespeare play, it's being able to convince them through literal tonnes of fake blood and audience off-script moments (if you've got a ticket in the groundlings, you might just be picked out to join the performance on stage at a whim) - plus $10 tickets to see it all go down.

The Pop-up Globe Theatre tumbles into Perth on October 5th, for a limited time only at Crown. Grab your tickets and find more information HERE.
