Run The Jewels - Oh My Darling Don't Meow (Just Blaze Remix)

Listen to Just Blaze's track for RTJ's cat noises remix album.

If you're not up to cat scratch, Meow The Jewels a Kickstarter Project from last year, where they proposed if they could raise $40k, Killer Mike and El-P would remix their awesome album Run The Jewels 2 with all cat sounds for the music. Rewards for donations included having your cat's "voice" featured on the LP. Unsurprisingly, the Internet got behind it, and the project raised over 60K, and thus became a thing.

All of this year the artists have been dropping their cat-centric remixes - back in June we heard Meowrly, the cat version of Early, which featured Boots (of Beyonce album fame) as vocalist and producer (listen below). We were also treated to CREOWN (listen here) a feline take on Crown, produced by the Alchemist and that witnessed Killer Mike spitting verses over a series of high-pitched meows.

Today cat and music lovers everywhere get the pleasure of hearing one of the most hotly anticipated tracks off the project - Just Blaze's joint. If you watched that Sprite Beat Making Challenge thing we posted the other week, you'll know what a god-damn genius the US hitmaker is. He's taken on Oh My Darling Don’t Cry, turning it into Oh My Darling Don't Meow.

The track begins with a narrative involving Just Blaze watching 'Cat Week' on TV (?) before a bunch of warped samples of meows and purring bass come into play. It's actually not half bad. Listen below. Release details for the full project are due next week.
