Listen: Vic Mensa - U Mad Feat. Kanye West

Vic and Ye bring some serious trap fire.

Another week goes by and another Vic Mensa x Kanye West collaboration drops. U Mad was teased by West when he played with Mensa in London but now the studio version is here. And it isn’t your standard Mensa production of pop house styled over some sleek verses but blaring horns and a flooring trap beat. If you’re interested in finding out the backstory, co-producer Stefan Ponce shared it with The Fader.

But the one thing that gets me is when Mensa spits, "Hater, please let me live my life, swear to God I be tryna do right/But if she bad I might hit a bitch in the elevator like Ray Rice," According to Rap Genius, Mensa means ‘bad’ in a good way, and hit in a sexual sense as in ‘hit on her’. Even with that reference point it’s hard to not to straight away read that he’d hit a woman like Ray Rice who knocked out his then-fiancée in an elevator. Plus when it comes to the Internet just because you meant one thing doesn’t mean someone can’t read into it another way. But I guess Vic and Ye would just go, ‘You mad, huh?’
