Hot on the heels of her UK Garage influenced jam Ur not my friend, Jewel Owusu is back with a slightly more chill but no less addictive new cut of ethereal r&b in the form of American Honey.
Co-produced by Dylan Guy, American Honey combines elements of chill, lofi hip hop, modern alternative r&b and classic pop sensibilities, with Owusu’s enchanting voice drawing you in.
On American Honey, Owusu says “American Honey is all about going back and seeing someone that you know isn’t good for you. It’s about those casual situations where you know the other person really doesn’t value you or feel the same way towards you but you still go back. In the song you’re going back everytime you start drinking.”
