Get To Know: Korby

Get To Know: Korby

North West London-based singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist releases his incredibly impressive debut single + music video

Joining the likes of Dave, Kamal, Meekz and Fredo in the ranks of the always on point Neighborhood Recordings is North West Londoner Korby, who makes a statement on his forward thinking debut single of alt-r&b vibes, Wait For You.

Co-produced by Korby and regular collaborator RJ, Wait For You pairs moody guitar samples with rumbling sub bass and a restrained kick drum pattern, building to a slow-mo, head-nod inducing breakbeat. The result is an equal parts experimental and addictive beat that perfectly fits Korby's subtly autotuned vocals that slot right in the pocket.

Lyrically the track sees Korby “address the turbulent and scary emotions people experience when going through something new but remembering that there’s always a place to come back to.”

Meanwhile, the stylish music video shot in the surroundings of London captures the wistful yet optimistic vibe of the song perfectly, from late night offie visits to sunset bike rides.
