Boorloo/Perth-based artist delivers her second single for the year with an irresistible pop bop - take a first listen

Five months after we met JADE RICH and her debut single Mind Reader, she’s back with her second single for the year in the form of the atmospheric, r&b-inflected pop sounds of POLITE, out Friday September 15 but premiering on Pilerats today.

Opening with sweeping keys and lofi vocals, POLITE soon gives way to boom bap style drums and Rich’s dreamy vocals, building to its epic & addictive choruses, as Jade reflects on self-growth and finding your voice.

Asking for things that I want or need is a constant battle for me” explains Jade. “I'm always working hard to find my voice and not let my people-pleasing tendencies take over. When I’ve expressed this struggle to people in the past, they haven’t responded with care or understanding, and I drop into that fawning state and my boundaries become blurred.

This song is me saying I’m not letting this cycle continue. No more putting others before myself. It’s me putting my non-negotiables to the forefront and finding the strength not to waiver, even if it means not having that person in my life”.

With a single launch at Four5Nine Bar next month and POLITE out September 15, give it a first listen today:
