Premiere: Watch the surreal new video for Messy Mammals' Rewind/Zodiac

A great new single/video combo from the Melbourne electro-pop duo.

Melbourne electronic-pop duo Messy Mammals today unveil a wonderfully surreal, at times rather somber, new video clip for their single, Rewind/Zodiac. Directed, filmed and edited by fellow Melbournian director Fanny Mac, the single and video were "born out of trauma we experienced surrounding the loss of a beloved friend, and so it is full of our feelings of regret, sorrow, disbelief and longing (unrealistically) for a different past that would lead to a different future. To emphasise the surreal and jarring qualities of memories, emotions and dreams, we then wrapped these ideas up in big beats, poetics and vivid colours."

Shot on location at the fantastical Pink Lake in Dimboola Victoria and across their hometown in Melbourne, it's a fitting visual treatment and a surreal trip set to offbeat and experimental electronica that is still very much accessible for the casual listener. Drink it in below:
