Premiere: Meet Francesca Gonzales and her killer debut single, Hope

Hope is the first enticing taste of an upcoming EP.

22 year old Melbourne artist Francesca Gonzales is a name you don't know yet, but we get the feeling you'll be wanting to get to know once you tuck into her debut single, Hope. Blending elements of electronica, soul, pop and R&B, this is Gonzales' first foray into the solo world after years playing in Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird. The track is melancholic, brooding and at times quite menacing, before building into something into something larger, and dare we say it, hopeful. She's been carefully crafting her debut EP for the past few years, and having worked with the likes of Tom Hutchens, Simon Lam (Kllo, I'lls), Thomas Fraser (Fractures) and Nicholas Park (Rat & Co), it certainly promises to be something special.

Take a listen to Hope below, and get along to the free launch Sunday 2 October at The Evelyn Hotel, Fitzroy.
