Premiere: May Lyn returns with her first song of 2018, Keep Up With Me

The Brisbane-via-Malaysia artist is back in full force after a stand-out 2017.

Brisbane's May Lyn was a name to keep an eye on in 2017, with her seven-track EP Vessels exploring her personal growth, culture and surroundings through woozy, electronic-tinged R&B that was both exciting and unique. Now she's back, returning in a big way for her first single of 2018, Keep Up With MeKeep Up With Me sees May Lyn in her comfort zone, layering her oozing, emotive R&B vocals with a hazy production crafted by ealing. that perfectly compliments Lyn's haunting vocal tone. Drawing you in with its chill-trap intro, Keep Up With Me quickly becomes hypnotic, not letting you go until the song's three-minute duration fades out.

It's a single more on the down-tempo side of things but it still works, following artists like Kelela in crafting woozy, flavoursome R&B packed full of powerful lyricism and great songwriting – only this time, it's from right here in Australia. Check out the single below, and be sure to catch her at Queensland's Arcadia Festival with other Pilerats favourites in London Topaz, OK Sure, Future Jr. and more – more info HERE.
