Premiere: Listen to a supremely lush new single from Gigamesh, Things Will Get Better

The remix legend's continued foray into originals is producing some fantastic music.

Following on from the August release of his Time Travel Vol. I EP, Minneapolis-based producer Gigamesh is already back and firing with its follow-up, Time Travel Vol. II, and we're incredibly honoured to share track #1 from it, Things Will Get Better.

I've been a massive fan of Gigamesh for years, especially back when nu-disco was first becoming popular and his awesome edits of so many old favourites from the likes of Classixx, Two Door Cinema Club and Katy B. In the years since his own original output has taken the fore, with expectedly fantastic results. 2016 finds Gigamesh bringing years of production talent into the contemporary, with TTVI a masterclass on funk and groove-based disco and electronica, and now TTVII promising a further evolution of his sound. Things Will Get Better dabbles more into realm of future-bass and is another showcase of Gigamesh's talent. He takes to the genre with all the assuredness you'd expect from someone of his calibre.

It's also interesting to note that there is an Australian connection: "This was a collaboration with Erin Marshall, a great singer and songwriter based in Sydney. It started as a completely different beat, but when she recorded the vocals I decided to play around with them and it evolved into something much different. I didn't give her any lyrical direction but what she wrote actually fit perfectly with the themes I was trying to infuse into the album: the progress of time, cautious optimism, and love."

The results speak for themselves, so tuck in below and keep an ear out for the Time Travel Vol. II, which is out this Friday 14 October.
