Listen: Rat & Co - Spring I & Spring II

Get lost in the world of Rat & Co's latest singles.

Meet Rat & Co: A beat-based quartet, making waves with consistent and far off instrumentals. People always say ‘keep things simple’ and this group does just that. Rat & Co produce basic and dulcet rhythms that are as calming as all get out. Spring I for instance feels like floating on clouds; languid drums and robotic key scales combine ever so sweetly. Not too little, not too much…just right. Spring II picks up the pace, with stretched vocal moans and drum loops speaking well with one another. These fellows really don’t need much to work with in order to write good music.

Hailing from the picturesque Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, the gang has already received international recognition and shared the stage with the likes of Tycho, Chrome Sparks and Purity Ring. Local boys Dave Harrington (Darkside) and old mate Chet Faker regularly fly their flag too. Earlier this year they were handpicked by our close pal Ta-ku to team up with a talented photographer in Ben Thomas. The result - Create & Explore, a multimedia series pairing artists of sight and sound in superb and overly cool fashion. Check that episode below and all the other installments HERE.
