Not gonna lie, I'm an absolute sucker for real bass-y trap and recently, one of my favourite go-to's has been New Zealand producer QUIX, with his savage 808s making trap pioneers such as Diplo and Flosstradamus sound like Chet Faker in comparison. Teaming up with Dimes, a Brisbane duo we featured just the other week, QUIX has mastered Stacked, a heaving new single released through Elysian Records. It doesn't take long to get going, with building drum hits and vocal loops rising until it erupts into a fury of bass and weird, unique samples you would sort of expect to hear at the back of a SOPHIE tune. Counting the likes of Baauer, What So Not, DJ Snake and Djemba Djemba as fans, Stacked is definitely not the last you'll hear of QUIX, with originals and collaborations galore to feature in 2016.
