Listen: Meek Mill & Drake – R.I.C.O. (XVII Remix)

XVII kills it once again, this time taking on Meek Mill and Drake for his new remix.

A few months ago we introduced you to Canadian trap producer XVII, who stormed onto the scene with his massive flip of Alison Wonderland’s U Don’t Know. The warped synth and heaving bass impressed us so much that it actually made it as one of our top 100 tracks this year so far (read the full list HERE) and has dominated sets Australia-wide since it dropped. After following it up with an equally massive original Anax, and a flip of Flume’s most recent single Some Minds, the Canadian producer has dropped another one of his world-class remixes, taking on Meek Mill and Drake with their track R.I.C.O..

XVII, born Rob Hughes, drowns out the original vocals with heavy 808s and deep synth stabs, with a long build up finally climaxing into an absolute banging breakdown, bursting with heavy bass and a bouncy, rapid synth melody. It’s no denying that the 20 year old is on fire at the moment, releasing some of the most discussed remixes and originals of the trap world so far this year, and this remix of R.I.C.O. just supports this. Have a listen below and get your trap arms ready for his first trip down under, set to take place later this year (dates to be announced soon).
