If you’re looking for your next sad song to fall into, look no further than Melbourne artist, Life Is Better Blonde, as he releases his second single, Follow Me. His last track, Mine came out earlier this year, a grimy R&B electronic mash-up luring us in, and while Follow Me it still dripping with a haunting lo-fi sound, the track veers off into a more romantic, ballad-like direction.
Follow Me creeps in with unsteady, melancholic piano chord layered with slow accordion, while the production gives it a haunting, vintage vibe. To top it off, the artist’s sensuous vocal drip through the track, comparable to a mix between Sam Smith and James Blake. Follow Me exemplifies beauty in sadness, and the Melbourne artist is definitely one to keep an eye on.
