Listen: Dean Custom - Aloha
A mix of a bit of Cashy Cat, a bit of HudMo and a tonne of good vibes.
Hailing from the land of windmills, tulips and damn good beer, young Dutch producer Dean Custom is becoming a fast-riser within the electronic music scene, thanks to his laid-back, melodic twist on jersey club. Following on from a handful of originals already this year and an official remix for the don Porter Robinson, Custom has released Aloha, his first piece of work for the past month or so. Aloha is packed full of vibes, with a tinge of summer floating around the lullaby-ish melodic beat. To me, the single is quick to pick up comparisons to Cashmere Cat's Mirror Maru with soft piano chords and a jersey-infused beat kicking the song off nicely. When you hit the two minute-mark however, it switches up to a more Hudson Mohawke à la Chimes sound, with savage horns and tribal chants taking over before reverting back to that real cute melody. Released through the Monstercat crew, the track is available to stream below and if you dig it enough - be sure to buy Aloha on iTunes HERE.
