In The Booth: Carmada

Like the mightiest of Power Rangers, Carmada is the combined forces of LDRU and Yahtzel, a couple of good mates with a penchant for tropical bangers on their own, and a whole new beast when combined under their colab moniker. Their Realise EP has taken them around the country and to some massive festivals in the US, where they've been bringing crowds to their knees with some energetic, bass-heavy DJ sets. The variety on display within the sets makes them the perfect candidates for an In The Booth piece, with a few selections below that might surprise you. They're playing the upcoming Your Paradise Festival before hitting the road with Stereosonic late next month. Here's what to expect:

Take us through a set with Carmada:

What track are we opening up with?

You’re miles away from home and you want to show some love for your home town/country. Which friend’s work are you gonna play?

Bengal our homeboy from QLD, his track The Nile turns it all up!

The audience are well-oiled, now it’s time to make them lose their shit. What track is going to do it?

Boss Mode by Knife Party always hits like a ton of bricks.

You’ve got ‘em now, got a track show off how deep your taste goes?

We love dropping the Slim Shady Without Me a capella over Right On Time (Alex Young remix):

Energy levels are waning slightly, what’s a fail safe pick me up – either for yourself, or the crowd?

We’re on the home stretch, what’s a brand new track you’re going to test out?

Night Visions by Pilo & Sinden, very bold, very brash.

It’s time for a breather, got a track with some real emotional feels?

Good night all and thanks for coming – what track are you going to leave everyone with?

Killing In The Name or Bulls On Parade by Rage Against the Machine, because rock'n'roll.
