Exclusive: Gaze into the future with Cabu's infectious Twenty Three EP

Stream the EP ahead of its release through Majestic Casual Records this Friday.

Sydney musician Cabu has been in the beat scene for a while now, with early gems on his Soundcloud account dating back two-to-three years – largely instrumentals vaguely familiar to Soulection's R&B groove or tracks by Swindail and Sam Gellaitry (both of which are actually referenced on one of his tracks, aptly titled Ode To Swindail And Gellaitry). That said, he's always kept things relatively on the down-low, something he aims to change with the release of his new EP Twenty Three.

Streaming on Pilerats ahead of its release through Majestic Casual Records this Friday, Twenty Three continues to showcase Cabu's R&B-infused groove but in a way that feels more natural and with it, more approachable. Guest vocals from the likes of J-Rican and Akacia are remarkably comfortable and at home amongst Cabu's soulful productions, which ooze with this infectious R&B quality that I can definitely see being one of the next big things in commercial radio thanks to names such as SZA and Jorja Smith.
