EAST AV3 and George Alice collab with Do It All Again, share text message interview

The Adelaide super-collaboration comes ahead of some east coast tour dates for EAST AV3 this Autumn, with plenty more to come.

When it comes to the heights of Adelaide's music space, EAST AV3 and George Alice are two acts we find ourselves talking about constantly. The former of the pairing - experimentalist trio EAST AV3 - have forged a genre-defying sound that switches between bursts of hip-hop and electronica with all the work they've put out since their 2019 debut Riding Through The Fire, while triple j Unearthed winner George Alice has become a flag-bearing pop success for Adelaide, something she's built on since capturing our attention with her debut single Circles back in 2019.

Despite coming from two very different sides of the Adelaide music space, there are quite a few similarities in an EAST AV3 / George Alice Venn diagram. For starters, they're both acts synonymous with a bright, boundary-breaking future for Australian music as a whole, and that's something that shines as the pairing come together in their new collaborative link-up Do It All Again, which arrives today.

The single showcases the heights of both EAST AV3 and George Alice at their forward-thinking best, with the production arm of EAST AV3 bringing nods to famed hip-hop producers like Pharrell and Timbaland with their bouncy, percussion-fuelled beat, while the hip-hop side of EAST AV3 glides around it with speed, navigating the peaks and valleys of the production with a rushing, fun brilliance. George Alice then adds a pop Midas touch to it; her soaring hook adding a further dimension to the single, while her fluttering vocals come and go amongst the backdrop of verses in between - each inclusion of her vocal feeling like a deep breath of fresh air amongst the madness going on around it.

"We made the track on one of our Sydney trips during COVID and the underlying festival theme came from our withdrawals from the whole live aspect of being an artist," says EAST AV3 on the single. "Working with Georgia was such a special experience, especially being able to put two Adelaide names together, which seems to be quite a rare thing."

The single also arrives with tour dates for EAST AV3, which will bring the trio across the east coast of the country this Autumn with dates in Adelaide, Sydney and Wollongong. There's no doubt plenty more in the pipeline too, but in the meantime, take a dive into the single below and underneath the track, read a text message interview between EAST AV3 and George Alice, as the collaborative relationship they built during Do It All Again deepens as time goes on.
