Watch: WALKEN - Even If It Kills Me

Brisbane two-piece Walken prove that less is more with one of the catchiest punk tracks of 2015

You’d think that when it comes to a genre like punk; the more noise, instruments and members the better, right? Definitely not the case for Brisbane two-piece WALKEN, consisting of vocalist/guitarist Matt Jamez and drummer Joe Daley. These up and comers are showing that taking a minimalist approach towards heavy music can work an absolute charm, and first single Even If It Kills Me is all the proof you need. Laden with melodic riffs, thumping fills and some seriously poppy hooks, Even If It Kills Me is a throwback to classic mid-90s punk, sprinkled with Violent Soho-esque garage vibes.

Having spent the last year sharing the stage with some of Australia’s best bands including Clowns, The Smith Street Band and Violent Soho, WALKEN are fast making a name for themselves as one of the next big things in Australian punk. Considering they’ve only been playing music together since March last year, we’re expecting huge things from these dudes in the very near future.
