Watch: Foals - What Went Down

Foals get heavy on their new single, What Went Down ahead of a new LP.

What Went Down takes off from where Foals’ bone-crushing single Inhaler stopped. Dropping the math-rock elements; punchy drums, precise guitar licks, it embraces the wall of sound breakdown at the end of Inhaler. And where that song felt like a chained dog What Went Down is a shapeless beast howling in the night. Indeed as lead singer Yannis Philippakis drops into the chorus crying, “Where I see a man I see a liar,” the guitars fray leaving only raw noise.

What Went Down is the title track off Foals’ upcoming fourth album, here's the tracklist, artwork is the header photo:

2. Mountain At My Gates

3. Birch Tree

4. Give It All

5. Albatross

6. Snake Oil
