The War On Drugs share a mesmerizing new album cut, Strangest Thing

A Deeper Understanding is out later next month.

August cannot come quicker. An anthem for shoegazers worldwide, The War On Drugs have shared yet another preview of their new album A Deeper Understanding. Having already shared the 11-minute showcase Thinking Of A Place and the swoony upbeat Holding On, today the indie-rock band from Philadelphia have shared the mesmerising track Strangest Thing. Announcing its forthcoming release earlier this week, Strangest Things is The War On Drugs at their much-loved best. Sonic guitar work and woozy synths are highlighted by frontman Adam Granduciel’s husky and delicate storytelling. Coming in at nearly seven minutes, Strangest Thing is quite possibly the best of three cuts previewed of A Deeper Understanding, with it only adding to the itch for the much anticipated follow up to their 2014 record Lost In A Dream.

A Deeper Understanding is due for release on the 25th of August via Atlantic Records.
