Premiere: Slow Turismo return with a soothing new single, You Were Dead

It's the four-piece's first release since late-2015, and will be accompanied with a run of shows.

Once compared to Modest Mouse and Foals, Slow Turismo are a Canberra-based four-piece who gained quite a bit of traction behind them back in 2015 through singles including Falter and Corners. Their 2016 however, was spent largely behind-the-scenes, spending an extensive amount of time in the studio with SAFIA frontman Ben Woolner-Kirkam to refine and solidify their sound, with the first taste of this renewed sound emerging in the form of You Were Dead – their first single since 2015. In comparison to their previous tracks, You Were Dead is evidently far more laid-back, with summery guitar riffs that glisten underneath hushed vocals from the band’s frontman, and the occasional backing vocal from the SAFIA frontman himself. In addition to the single, the four-piece are celebrating their return to Australia’s alt-rock scene with a quick run of east-coast dates through March and April. Check out the details below.
