Premiere: Rose Haze - Slow Decay

Soak up some fresh atmospheric & psychedelic shoegaze vibes out of California

Hot on the heels of their December 2022 album Contemplations in the Desert, California’s Rose Haze are back with an ethereal new cut of downtempo shoegaze sounds, with Slow Decay premiering on Pilerats today!

Fronted by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kate Ramsey, Rose Haze’s new single sees big, fuzzy guitar riffs alongside a sludgy yet groove laden rhythm section, swirling synths and Ramsey’s striking vocals, resulting in an enchanting cut of cinematic sounds of doomy dream pop.

Written by Ramsey while visiting family back home in the midwest, she asked guitarist Ruben Gonzales to send her some riffs, a bass line and drumbeat, where in her childhood bedroom the lyrics and synth parts were written and a first demo arranged. She took the demo to the rest of the band where it naturally morphed into the darker and heavier song that it is today.

Give Slow Decay a spin as it premieres on Pilerats!
