After recently making a buzz at SXSW, French rockers You Said Strange follow-up last single (Song For A) Wasted Land with the distorted yet crisp sounds of new single Control, out April 14 but premiering on Pilerats today!

The latest taste of their forthcoming album, Thousand Shadows Vol. 2 (out April 28), Control packs big, fuzzy and clean guitar hooks, a grooving rhythm section and layered, atmospheric & hypnotic vocals.

Regarding Control, the band explain "The newest single from these Thousand Shadows, 'Control,' addresses the forgetfulness of self in simple or harmful relationships. The dangerousness of spirits in search of redemption whatever the cost, even if it means giving the reins of their lives to anyone, from the most tender to the most dangerous of beings. Chopped, tense instrumentation mixed with melodious and pop lines unveil this idea with modesty and strength."

Alongside the already released Thousand Shadows Vol.1, combined with Vol.2 will make up the band’s full sophomore record of “psychedelic pop, proto grunge, and shoegaze sonics, inspired by the band's experiences on tour across Europe and North America”.

Give Control a listen as it premieres on Pilerats today!
