As we slowly enter the warmer months, Melbourne’s Fonteray is here with a chilled, vibe filled indie anthem in the form of Sunshine, premiering on Pilerats today ahead of it’s release tomorrow, September 14.

Inspired by and channeling the likes of Toro Y Moi, Jungle and Washed Out, multi-instrumentalist Drew McCarty draws on his fascination of classic synths to craft emotive and uplifting cuts of neo-soul influenced indie pop, with heavy dashes of disco and psychedelia, perfectly encapsulated on Sunshine.

All manner of shimmering, swirling and arpeggiated synths permeate the mix, with a chilled 4x4 drums and a propulsive, groove-laden bassline pushing things along, while McCarty’s falsetto vocals cut through sonic layers to round out this slice of tropical indie bliss.
