Premiere: Arroyo cement themselves as one to watch with new single, Hold

The single also marks the launch of Daily Nightly, a new record label venture from the team behind Beyond The Valley and more.

Around six months ago, we were introduced to the world of Arroyo with their debut single Please Just Let Me Know, a slick and soulful burst out the gates that started the ball rolling strong, placing the Gold Coast-based duo onto the map with just one release. Composed of Matt Barlem and Jay Bainbridge - the former of which has worked on records with Dead Letter Circus, Matt Corby, Jarryd James and more - Arroyo promise to be one of our bustling indie-pop scene's most exciting names, something they're here to cement with their second cut, Hold. Joining Please Just Let Me Know on a forthcoming debut EP, Hold is another bold and polished indie track that further deepens their sound, combining a crashing, guitar-backed instrumental with a super bright and uplifting vocal which you can picture being belted out at festivals - probably a good sign considering they'll be playing Beyond The Valley and both legs of the Grapevine Gathering Festival in Victoria and New South Wales.

The single also marks the beginning of Daily Nightly, a new record label venture from the Untitled Group crew that have introduced some of Australia's now-largest festivals to our scene. Launching earlier this week with Arroyo and Big Words as their inaugural signings, the label's formation is sure to introduce a breath of fresh air into our continually growing music scene, with label director Filippo Palermo promising some super exciting releases through the platform in the future: "Not only will we aim to push boundaries within our time sonically, we will also represent the label in a refreshing light aesthetically - from the visual components and unique locations of our showcases to the brand identity curated by Louis Nuccitelli.”
