Listen: Teresa Di Fava - Heatstroke

The new pop rock anthem from the emerging singer-songwriter, packed with plenty of punch.

From Kaurna land/ Adelaide hails rising pop star Teresa Di Fava, a singer-songwriter weaving through the genres of indie, to electronic and dreamy pop to yield delightfully intriguing sounds. Making her debut in 2020 with the well received single Udontfkncare, followed up in the same year with Gotta Be Hurt Bad (To Hurt Somebody), she's featured in Legac.y’s Big Blue House which reached #4 on the triple j unearthed Hip Hop charts, in addition to selling out shows in her hometown. Today she releases her highly anticipated new single Heatstroke, an empowering pop rock anthem that explores the topics of imposter syndrome and insecurities faced as an artist.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Muse and Gwen Stefani, Heatstroke gently builds in waves of harmonies guided by big deep drum beats and tremolo drenched guitar wobbles, into the fired-up punches of the chorus where Teresa’s vocals can truly soar. Beautifully polished with crisp production, the track alternates rhythms laced with plenty of catchy hooks as it travels through its many twists and turns - that are perhaps representative of the releases narrative, Teresa explaining “Every artist is familiar with imposter syndrome, or not feeling good enough at their craft, Heatstroke begins as a metaphor for these insecurities slowly taking hold, before finally confronting them in an act of defiance, self-love and freedom”.

To accompany the release of the track, Teresa Di Fava will be launching the single at Lowlife Bar in Adelaide tonight (May 13th). Be sure to get fired up for the weekend with this high-energy slice of pop rock goodness, and stream Heatstroke below.
