When it rains a new M83 single, this time around it really has poured, as M83 AKA Anthony Gonzalez drops new single Amnesia alongside four new cuts from his forthcoming Fantasy album, joining previous single Oceans Niagara.

An upbeat, rollicking slice of new wave inflected indie goodness, Amnesia is a nice counterpoint to the largely instrumental, massively atmospheric Oceans Niagara and gives a good sense of the diversity expected on Fantasy.

To get an even better understanding of how the record will sound, alongside Amnesia, Gonzalez has also released Water Deep, Us And The Rest, Earth To Sea and Radar, Far, Gone - which alongside Oceans Niagara and Amnesia will make up the first half of the album.

With Fantasy set for a March 17 release, Gonzalez explains that the album’s direction was immediately clear: “I wanted this record to be very impactful live," he says. "The idea was to come back with something closer to the energy of [third studio album] Before The Dawn Heals Us. The combination of guitars and synths is always in my music, but it’s maybe more present on this new record than on the previous ones."

M83’s new album Fantasy is out March 17 via Virgin Music Australia
