WATCH: Helen Shanahan - Canvas

The Boorloo artist shares the delicate personal track in the lead up to her forthcoming album.

Boorloo (Perth) based singer-songwriter Helen Shanahan bares all in her vulnerable and emotional new single Canvas. Helen is no stranger to writing delicate melodies, sharing stories on the joys and sorrows of love and life in fervent lyricism since her debut EP Driftwood in 2012.

Canvas see’s the folk singer-songwriter’s smooth honest vocals and precise articulation sculpt a sad but reflective narrative, set to wispy guitar pluck and somber strings. With a music video to accompany, it’s a beautiful and personal experience, Helen sharing that  The song brought up lots of mixed emotions, as it unravelled how that relationship effected my adult life and how I had to 'unlearn' my feelings of low self-esteem and worth.”

We can expect more introspective and triumphant compositions from this local songwriter, as her forthcoming album of the same title Canvas makes its way into the world March 4th, with a launch to accompany at Owl Studio in Morley on March 5th. For now enjoy the delightful deeply personal track and video below.
