Pilerats.com x VICE Reader Screening – A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night

Free Iranian vampire movie (and pizza) for you!

To say thanks to our loyal Pilerats.com followers, we've teamed up with VICE and Luna Cinemas for a special Pilerats.com screening event of a film we’ve been absolutely DYING to see. That’s a joke, because it’s a vampire film! Called A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night. This is not a joke: We have 50 FREE seats available for the first Pilerats readers to register via info@pilerats.com (one ticket per person). After these seats are filled, tickets to this event are available online.

[UPDATE - the free seats allocation has been exhausted, ticket purchasing details below]

A sassy vampire babe is roaming the streets of 'Bad City' – a fictional Iranian ghost town - on a skateboard. In her stripy shirt and '60s eyeliner she could be straight out of the Velvet Underground – in fact, she does have an awesome vinyl collection. Which she listens to in between feeding on all the dudes who are pissing her off (and sparing the nice dudes with potential)…just her way of maintaining her own code of moral justice deep into the hours of darkness. Sassy vampire babe meets Arash, a down-and-out James Dean type hipster with great hair. He is dealing with his own family issues and in the off-kilter world they inhabit, they embark on an unconventional 'freaks of a feather' type romance.

Shot in stunning black-and-white, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night is a bit Sin City, a bit Jim Jarmusch, a bit David Lynch, and plays with the conventions of old-school Western vampire movies, some surreal film noir thrown in for good measure. The debut film of Californian-Persian filmmaker Ana Lily Armipour, the film smashed it at Sundance Film Festival, and everyone whose seen it is obsessed with it. Join us as we venture deep into the hours of darkness...
