Music videos are artistic extensions of the songs themselves, with many visual accompaniments becoming just as, if not more iconic than the song it was created for. As usual, some of our favourite songs of the week also had some of our favourite videos, with this week's list including Bleachers, CHAI, Crumb & Melody's Echo Chamber, Faye Webster, Gut Health, Jebediah; MIKE, Wiki & The Alchemist; Sleaford Mods, The Bures Band and Troye Sivan.

Bleachers - Modern Girl

Modern pop maestro Jack Anotoff’s Bleachers return with new music after a few years in the form of the feelgood 80s inspired flavours of ‘Modern Girl’ alongside a music video that sees the band jamming out in a checkerboard floored studio. Bleachers’ new single Modern Girl it out  now via Dirty Hit.

CHAI - GAME

Our favourite Japanese indie pop four-piece drop one last irresistible single from their new album with a music video that sees the band undertake the role of delivery people, with a throwback 80s sheen to the visuals. CHAI’s new album CHAI is out now via Sub Pop.

Crumb & Melody's Echo Chamber - Le Temple Volant

This week’s delightfully unexpected collab comes courtesy of NYC indie rockers Crumb and longtime psych-pop fave MEC, with the result a dreamy, floating slice of hip-hop influenced goodness and a video that continues this week’s throwback theme, with VHS home movie vibes abounding. Crumb & Melody's Echo Chamber’s new single Le Temple Volant is out now via Crumb Records.

Faye Webster - Lifetime

Having recently been announced for next year’s Laneway festival, indie/alt-folk singer-songwriter’s sultry new single features a clever & creative music video that combines collages with long shots as Webster grapples with the ageing process. Faye Webster’s new single Lifetime is out now via Secretly Canadian.

Gut Health - Uh oh

The video for Melbourne/Naarm dancey post-punks new single lives up to the song’s name, with vocalist Athina Uh oh finding herself in a hostage type situation. Gut Health’s new EP Singles ‘23 is out November 24 via Marthouse Records.

Jebediah - Gum Up The Bearings

Smoother than butter vibes on this heavyweight hip-hop collab, with a beautifully shot video that follow Wiki & MIKE as they rap their way through different streets and city settings. MIKE, Wiki & The Alchemist’s new album Faith Is A Rock is out now via ALC Records.

Sleaford Mods - Big Pharma

The Bures Band - Let In Outside

Slickly edited live studio jams are the order of the day on the new video from Boorloo/Perth’s The Bures Band’s new single of mellow, throwback 70s folk rock sounds. The Bures Band’s new album Birds Nest is out October 9.

Troye Sivan - Got Me Started

Bag Raiders’ ‘viral ‘Shooting Stars’ meets breakbeats on Sivan’s enticing new single, with a typically cheeky, steamy and incredibly choreographed music video. Troye Sivan’s new album Something To Give Each Other is out October 13 via EMI.
