Perth’s iconic all-ages music event Hyper has announced their return for 2022 after a huge sell-out run earlier this year. With an emphasis on top tier local artists in a COVID-safe atmosphere, the Hyper team have announced two stand-alone events on January 29 and March 26 of next year, with Stella Donnelly headlining one, and Spacey Jane the other.
Located in the eastern suburbs of Perth, this event provides live and local sounds to an area that misses most of the commotion from the city and Fremantle music scenes. What's more is that U18s are able to attend, providing the opportunity for the next generation to hear some of the nation's largest acts, alongside incredible local up and comers.
The first event to kick off the action, Drug Aware Hyper presents Stella Donnelly on Saturday January 29 2022, welcomes triple j favourite Noah Dillon, R&B/funk big band Superthick, triple j Unearthed feature artist South Summit, and WAM Song of the Year Winner Detour to the lineup. Tickets for this show can be purchased for the crazy low price of $20.
Day two is scheduled for March 26 2022, with Spacey Jane leading a larger delivery of the event with two stages across an expanded site, and a bigger lineup featuring WAM Song of the Year winner Siobhan Cotchin, smol fish, Ken Paolo & The Space Cadets, Patio Living, Spici Water, and Siena Rebelo. Tickets for day two are only $5 more at an astonishingly low $25. Packages to attend both events are also available for purchase at $40.
To prepare for the potential impacts of restrictions due to COVID, tickets are being sold in allotments similar to last year. Those with the first stage of tickets are guaranteed entry to the event in phase 4 restrictions and beyond, while second stage tickets are guaranteed a spot at the event at Phase 5 restrictions and beyond, or will be otherwise refunded - so be sure not to sleep on tickets for this one! If last year was any indication, they won’t last long.
Decking out the Locale event space on the corner of Cale Street and the Crescent in Midland with the addition of gourmet food vans, a photo booth, free 18-hole adventure golf, games, merchandise and a signing tent, this is sure to be an exciting experience for any music lover.
