Bloc Party are touring their breakout album Silent Alarm in Australia later this year

Playing four huge venues over November/December.

We live in a nostalgia-obssessed culture, and you can either lean into it or rebel against it, and we are very much leaning into the opportunity to hear Bloc Party perform their seminal debut album, Silent Alarm, in full later this year. When Europe went apeshit over the announcement of a similar tour, it was pretty clear Bloc Party fans are ready for it, and we're pretty excited to see it down in Australia this November/December.

For the young'uns out there, Silent Alarm was a blast of pure energy, urgent in its delivery as a fierce frontman - Kele Oreke - took the indie-rock scene by storm. Nowadays the band's makeup is a little different, with Okereke and Russell Lissack on guitar from the original venture, now backed more than ably by Justin Harris (bass) and Louise Bartle (drums), who've been playing with the group for the past few years.

Relive the glory of Silent Alarm below, and scope those dates down the bottom:

TOUR DATES:

Sat 24 Nov - Red Hill Auditorium, Perth

Tue 27 Nov - Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne

Fri 30 Nov - Horden Pavilion, Sydney

Sat 1 Dec - Riverstage, Brisbane
