Listen: Corbin (Spooky Black) – Worn

Teaming up with Shlohmo’s crew wedidit, Corbin has dropped his rawest stuff yet.

The end of 2014 saw Spooky Black really flex his musical muscles when he put out The Stand4rd album and change his moniker to his actual name Corbin.

And with his decision to strip away his former name, on Worn, R & B production falls away in place of raw noise. Opening with a rough, filtered piano bed against a steady thumping beat it quickly shapes up to be Corbin’s most heartfelt work yet. Indeed, the song as a whole comes across as a desperate cry to understand before it seemingly writhes in anger as that understanding never come. And in it’s place rises a thundering beat that Corbin’s rage-infused voice rides easily.

The raw emotion that fires out of this track is overwhelming and having Shlohmo’s crew, wedidit, on production, just heightens the power.
