Watch: JOY. - About Us

Watch: JOY. - About Us

TFW JOY. drops a new video and is going on tour.

Ode was a big change up from JOY.'s earlier tracks like Weathered and Captured because there's greater awareness and in turn more control of visual aesthetic. And this flows into her music, her lyrical meaning has remained the same albeit stronger but the mood created through her music is what has taken leaps and bound. Where before she would create tracks based on an emotion in general, About Us and the majority of Ode is able to zoom in on one emotion through a combination of production and lyrics. As I mentioned before this crosses over into her visuals as the clip for About Us aims not to tell a story but capture a feeling. And through an array of extreme close-ups, dark hues, silhouettes and cryptic visuals this sense of moving on is brought to the fore seamlessly. The video for About Us highlights JOY. is not just a production wunder-kid but an artist completely in control of her identity and ready to kick ass. JOY. is also going on a national tour of Australia:

Fri 30 October @ Cats, Adelaide

Fri 6 Nov @ Shebeen, Melbourne

Fri 13 Nov @ The Foundry, Brisbane

Sat 14 Nov @ Jack Rabbit Slims, Perth

Sat 20 Nov @ Goodgod, Sydney
