Premiere: Watch the fascinating, disorientating new video clip from Kalacoma

A clip that will have you in awe and uneasy at the same time.

Every now and then a video clip will come along that just takes the wind out of your sails. We get sent new music videos every day, some fantastic, some not so much, and others that will force you to press play and for once not skip through at points before you make a judgement call. Melbourne five-piece Kalacoma's new video clip for their single Kaleidscoper definitely falls into the latter category. Shot by band member Alan Erpi and edited by the group themselves, it simply features vocalist Nick Herrera singing the song and moving in ways that feel almost alien at times, but with added editing techniques that are engrossing. The lighting, mood, music and editing brought to mind the work of Johnathon Glazer, in particular his incredible video for UNKLE's Rabbit In Your Headlights featuring Thom Yorke.

It's easily one of my favourite video clips of the year, and you can help them celebrate the single and video release at the Kaleidscoper single launch this Thursday 16 June in Melbourne (details HERE).
