Premiere: Blondebears firm as one of Oz's most intriguing electronic acts on Sedative

The Sydney duo's second single puts them two from two.

Following on from the release of their excellent debut single Dissolve (the Mookhi-directed video for which we premiered HERE), Sydney duo Blondebears have returned with another absorbing new single, Sedative. It's left field electronica that doesn't alienate the listener, with a meditative, haunting feeling across a three-and-a-half minute track that still manages to feel like an epic journey.

Jake Stiles (who makes up the duo with Sebastian Morales), describes the story of the track: "Sedative recounts the story of a man who experiences a bipolar relationship. He largely accepts blame for the breakdowns and failures; struggling to ever forgive himself. He never moves on with his life and carries these burdens to his untimely death."

Heady stuff that only further cements the duo as one of this country's most intriguing and exciting young electronic acts. Take a listen below, and catch them live Friday 25 August at Rare Finds #32, Oxford Art Factory Gallery with Samsaruh and Sparrows, or the King Street Crawl at Newtown Hotel, Sunday 10 September.
