Ratatat return!

It's been four years since Ratatat's Evan Mast and Mike Stroud released LP4. On the back of their return to the scene with a live show at Coachella, the experimental rock / electronic duo have released a new track, Cream on Chrome. Damn, it is nice to hear that Ratatat guitar shred / programmed drums combo in action again.

The duo, who are both talented multi-instrumentalists, handle all the parts on their own - from percussion and strings to production and synthesizers - their deftness at mixing organic instrumentation with electronic production has always set them apart, and kept their music interesting for us. The new track begins like a low-key version of Tropicana, before sliding into space-disco groove for the verses; rounded out with a catchy hook. Towards the track's end, things get more intense, and wild, loose guitar work dominates.

Listen to the track below, and watch a live video of them playing it at Coachella the other day. There's no confirmation of an album yet, but you'd assume an announcement is not far off.
