After being generous enough to open his entire BANDCAMP for free download last month, LA bass maestro Mr. Carmack is back littering the internet with sizzling beats. Known for strongly resisting the temptations of a major label, RED comes to us through a BitTorrent link- staying true to his unique style of promotion. Stay tuned for even more Carmack - he claims this to be the first of three EP releases over the next few months. RED features his signature double time buildups and skiddy snares, most of which are oddments that have been circulating around his mixes and Soundcloud for the last year or so.
RED is also a bit of a salute to some of his rapper idols - with bootlegs of Drake, Big Sean and Raf Riley included. He strains the dominance out of Drake’s vocals on his remix of Trophies and adds a slapping bottom end, and reigns in a subtler approach on Riley’s tune Summer.
