Listen: Feki - Quiet Minds feat. Emily

Feki releases Quiet Minds, a smooth, gloomy affair from the Brisbane beatmaker.

Not gonna lie, if there's one newcomer I've frothed over most this year, it's been Brisbane producer Henry Feki, otherwise simply known as Feki. The Mutual Friends-affiliated producer has been in the limelight for a while now, with his bounty of remixes, production work and originals shining throughout the year.  This library of tracks has scored him a round of hefty shows including a spot at the Brisbane leg of the Listen Out music festival. About six months ago, the producer released Remember, his best to date, thanks to an impressive blend of light keys and synth bouncing around a ripping electronic beat. Now, he's followed it up with Quiet Minds, a soothing tune featuring a vocalist by the name of Emily. Quiet Minds is a more restrained and smoother piece of work than what we're used to, opening with soft atmospheric synth chords floating behind dreamy vocal work.  Unlike his previous stuff, it sticks to this level, with the producer filtering in bass hits and drifting keys as the song carries on as a more somber affair compared to Remember and work before that. That being said, the single really highlights the versatility of the producer, a thing we also talked about with Remember, and the fact that no matter what sound he goes for, Henry seems to always freaking nail it.
