Listen: Chris McClenney - Amor Celestial

Listen: Chris McClenney - Amor Celestial

With Soulection involved, there's no surprises here.

Chris McClenney has been polluting my Soundcloud feed of late. And for all the right reasons. I first heard the young Maryland producer when he did an upbeat re-work of one of my favourite downbeat electronic groups, abhi//dijon's Distant Love. Amor Celestial - part of a free compilation Love Is King, by Soulection - is an utterly beautiful electro-soul ode to the celestial nature of love. McClenney seduces you with a tantalising bassline, before building to a climax as female soul vocals utter the hauntingly volatile tagline. It leaves you with a lasting impression of the splendours of love, without forgetting its inherently dark qualities. And, as the title suggests, gazing at the stars will only enhance the experience.
