Listen: Chet Faker x Banks - 1998 (Remix)

Faker calls on LA angel Banks for some idyllic harmonies and a new verse.

One of the most-loved tracks from the soulful electronic producer's 2014 album Built on Glass, 1998 has been given a re-rub from Faker, with the help of Los Angeles singer Banks. Having premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show this week, the new version features some amazing harmonies from Banks, who slinks in with ease in her trademark raspy, brooding vocal style, as well as a fresh verse.

The new version is crisp, tight, and dynamic - we're blown away by how instantly compelling it is. Listen below.

Chet Faker is currently working on the follow-up to Built On Glass from a home studio in Brooklyn, but will return to Australia to play shows at the Sydney Opera House, and in Brisbane and Melbourne, this October and November (dates here), playing with a large band and rolling out brand new songs. Probably including this one! A couple of years ago Chet Faker treated us to an intimate acoustic set in the Pilerats office. Watch below via Pile TV:
