Caribou’s Can’t Do Without You was a standout track last summer, and I’m always looking for a reason to keep playing it. Well this latest reason came in the form of Manila Killa and Kidswaste’s cover of the song, which they dropped yesterday. The track features soft, pleasant vocals and guitar riffs from 18 year old French musician Kidswaste, along with Manila Killa’s signature production. The Moving Castle member, who is also 1/2 of the house duo Hotel Garuda, infuses the cover with bright synths, twinkling bells, and symphonic strings. Their take on the song is mystical an ethereal, keeping the same idea as the original while providing us with a whole new set of feels.
