Coming off a stellar 2014, Banoffee continues to excite us with her distinct blend of R&B with pop sensibilities. Turning heads with her debut EP and a run of national and international shows, the Melbourne songstress has officially signed with Dot Dash Recordings. Announcing her forthcoming EP Do I Make You Nervous? (out October 2) and dropping With Her, it’s truly exciting times for Banoffee.
At first glance With Her appears to be far more stripped back than her previous offerings. Oscar Key Sung heading up production may play a part in that but even vocally, Banoffee appears to be straying from layering and effects to rely more on her raw talent as a singer. Textured beautifully with the backing, With Her is an expressive journey about a love lost. Driven by hollow piano chords and gliding bass, the song crescendos with passion reminiscent of the R&B deities that Banoffee admires.
