In The Booth: D33J

WEDIDIT's D33J takes us for a spin ahead of his trip to Australia.

While mid-July may seem a little while away, it is in actual fact barely a month. And once the time arrives it means a bunch of the WEDIDIT collective will be joining Shlohmo on his Australian tour celebrating new album Dark Red. You can get more info on who else is playing and when they are doing so HERE, but today know LA producer D33J is one of them, and we asked for a little playlist of tunes we can possibly expect for when he arrives.

Take us through a set with D33J:

I have a few drone ambient songs I like to start with, like thinking of the set as starting from the ground up and progressing from processed natural sounds then building up into rhythmic songs. I like to mesh everything together fluidly, and shift the pace and atmosphere throughout. When I'm DJing don't like to go into it knowing everything I'm gonna play, the most enjoyable moments for me are those unpredicted accidents that only exist for a second but work so well ya know?

What track are we opening up with?

Or my own track, Valeria Lukyanova.

You’re miles away from home and you want to show some love for your home town/country. Which friend’s work are you gonna play?

Definitely gonna here some CZ, DJDS, Trikk, Delroy Edwards, Eric Dingus Remixes...

The audience are well-oiled, now it’s time to make them lose their shit. What track is going to do it?

You’ve got ‘em now, got a track show off how deep your taste goes?

Energy levels are waning slightly, what’s a fail safe pick me up – either for yourself, or the crowd?

We’re on the home stretch, what’s a brand new track you’re going to test out?

D33J - Dead Sea.

It’s time for a breather, got a track with some real emotional feels?

Good night all and thanks for coming – what track are you going to leave everyone with?

Always such a vibe to hear this song at the end of the night:
